How
to have Peace with God...
Where do Casey and
others find the peace to endure life's hardships, and the
grace that sustains them through tradgedy and grief?
Early on Monday
morning after the accident on Sunday I spent some time with
Casey in the ICU. Knowing that Ellie had been killed
in the accident, that Shane was in very critical condition,
and in her own physical pain - she expressed a great faith
in God and exhibited a deep peace in her heart. She
asked me to read to her from Isaiah. While she couldn't
remember the exact place, she knew the verses...
"Do you
not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting
God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow
tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of
the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men
stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will
renew their strength. They will soar on wings
like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk
and not be faint." (Isa. 40:28-31)
That is the key
- it is hope in the Lord. And hope like that is found
in a faith in God through a personal relationship with Jesus.
This depth of peace of heart comes from a vital fellowship
with God day by day.
If you would like
us to pray for you to find that peace, and to share more with
you about how to find the hope that is found in Christ - please

Here are a few Scriptures
to think through and pray about:
16
"For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17
For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through
him. John 3:16-17 (NIV)
22
This righteousness from God
comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There
is no difference, 23 for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24
and are justified freely by his grace
through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:22-24 (NIV)
8
But God demonstrates his own
love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died
for us. Romans 5:8 (NIV)
8
For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it
is the gift of God-- 9 not
by works, so that no one can boast. 10
For we are God's workmanship, created
in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance
for us to do. Eph 2:8-10 (NIV)
