                      Pray

                                  A-CROSS WYOMING

Thank you for committing to mobilize people in your congregation to prepare for A-CROSS WYOMING through prayer. If we are to impact Wyoming with the message of the cross, prayer will be essential.

PRAY A-CROSS WYOMING provides the opportunity to focus our prayer specifically on those who need a relationship with Jesus Christ .

     PRAY A-CROSS WYOMING will involve…

•  Creating opportunities for church members              to pray for the lost.

•  Taking prayer to our communities through              prayer walking.

Step-by-Step Guide for

PRAYING A-CROSS WYOMING

•  Enlist a prayer coordinator for your church. Seek out someone to be your church prayer coordinator who already prays consistently. This person will coordinate and organize the prayer effort.

•  Calendar occasions for members to pray for the lost.

Suggestions:

•  Plan special corporate evangelistic prayer times.

•  Create evangelistic prayer opportunities in Sunday School and other small group settings.

•  Encourage your membership to develop their personal prayer list for the lost.

Be creative as you seek ways to pray for your community.

•  Plan Prayer Walking opportunities.

•  Create Prayer-walking routes. These routes will be used later for distribution in the door to door Gospel saturation, Reaching A-CROSS WYOMING .

•  Calendar several prayer walking dates in March, 2010.

•  Enlist prayer-walkers within your church. Have a sign-up sheet for people to commit to prayer-walk. Encourage members of all ages and stages of life to participate! Remind people they can walk, run, ride horses, bikes or even drive as they pray!

•  Organize your prayer-walkers into groups. Keep the groups small in size, between 2 to 3 people, and assign them different areas of your community.

•  Offer resources and/or training that will prepare people to prayer-walk.

•  Prayer-walking: Praying On Site with Insight”      by Steve Hawthorne and Graham Kendrick ,           published by Charisma House, 1993.

•  Follow Me: Lessons for Becoming a Prayer           Walker ” by Randy Sprinkle , New Hope               Publishers, 2001.

•  “PRAYERWALKING made simple,” J. Chris        Schofield , Baptist Convention of North               Carolina,praync@ncbaptist.org .

•  “Taking Prayer to the Streets: Prayer               Journeys Resource Kit ” by Thomas C. Wright ,     NAMB (available in the WSBC Resource Library).

•  Gather the groups for a debriefing time. Discover together what God has shown them through prayer. Discuss their insights. Were there unreached groups of people discovered? Were there special needs revealed or opportunities for ministry uncovered?

•  Celebrate the anticipated answers to prayer!
