2013 WSBC Annual Meeting
The 2013 Annual Meeting of Wyoming Southern Baptists will be held November 7-8 at First Southern Baptist Church in Casper. This year we will be celebrating the 30thAnniversary of the Convention, as we hear the presentation concerning the future of the Convention.
The tentative agenda can be found here. Preliminary meetings will include a Missions Service, the Pastor’s Conference and a new Women’s Conference. On Wednesday, November 6th, beginning at 7:00pm, there will be a Missions Service at FSBC that will highlight Wyoming and Southern Baptist missions. The Pastor’s Conference will meet on Thursday, November 7th, at First Southern Baptist Church from 9:00 am to Noon. A newly designed Women’s Conference will be held at Imitate the Image Ministries, from 9:0am to Noon on Thursday the 7th as well.
The meetings of the Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 7th in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Casper. The Annual Sermon will be brought by Jim Ritter, pastor of First Southern Baptist Chapel of Glenrock. Other messages will include the President’s Message by Quin Williams, pastor of Boyd Avenue Baptist in Casper; and the Executive Director’s message by Lynn Nikkel. Dr. Jim Futral, Executive Director of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, will bring the closing message of the Convention.
An important element of this year’s meeting will include a look into a proposed new future direction for the WSBC. The Future Study Group of the Executive Board has completed its planning process to develop a recommendation for that future. This report and recommendation will be presented, explained, discussed, and offered adoption by the messengers. A copy of the recommendation is being mailed to all pastors and churches in the coming days.
