WYOMING / CANADA PARTNERSHIP BEGINS

Call out the Canadian Mounties!  Wyoming Southern Baptist Churches are on mission to Southern Alberta!

An exploritory team of leaders from across Wyoming traveled to Alberta to meet with the convention and church leadership there.  Then, our WSBC Executive Board approved our partnership with the Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists on April 18.  The partnership formally began May 1, 2008 and will continue for 3 years with a possible extension.

Already associations and churches are prayerfully selecting one of the 5 church planters in Southern Alberta to partner with.  Churches interested in being involved in this partnership should contact Tim Richardson in the WSBC office.

Energy Ministry Mobile Ministry Unit Dedicated

April has brought the second dedication for the Jonah Field ministry.  First Baptist Church in Big Piney, Wyoming & Fellowship Baptist Church in LaBarge, Wyoming dedicated the Mobile Ministry Unit which is under operated by the Wyoming Energy Industry Ministry, and is sponsored by the two local churches, Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention, the North American Mission Board, and the Oilfield Christian Fellowship of Houston, Texas.  Hosts for the Mobile Ministry Unit are the coordinating couple, Drew & Pam Crabtree.

This mobile unit may be seen out on the roads of the oil field supporting the workers in the Jonah Field area offering God’s Word for the Oilfield Bibles, prayer, tracts, Christian books, coffee, soda, snacks and a secure place for a short break to all who stop.  The month of April has brought 149 visitors to the Mobile Ministry Unit and many words of appreciation for “being there.”
