Dear Wyoming Southern Baptists,

“Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord, we don’t know where You are going, and how can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
John 14: 5-6

Through my years in Wyoming, I have spent some time in the wilderness.  On my first trip into an unknown and unmarked landscape, I am pretty cautious about where I go and how long I stay.  I have no interest in losing my way and not know how to get back to my starting point.  I have found that if I can find a trail, large or small, going in my preferred direction, it will often be an easier, safer trek than it would be if I just took off across country.  Once I find a path and know where it will take me, then I can confidently go from point A to point B without worry.  The right path doesn’t have to be big or wide or straight.  It can be narrow and have its challenges.  But, if I stay with it everything is going to be OK.
In the passage above, Jesus told His disciples that He is the way or path or trail that will lead us to the Father and there is no other.  All of us who have that saving relationship with Christ have found that path.  It may not always be an easy path, but Jesus will lead us to safety.  Once we embark upon that path, we take on the added responsibility of leading and pointing people to this same path.  In Church, we call it evangelism.  It is what we are called to do when Jesus gives us the Great Commission.
Our State Mission Offering is a way that Wyoming Southern Baptists use to accomplish some forms of guidance to the lost and lonely.  It is clear, that most of what is done to accomplish the Great Commission is done in the local church in a local community in the day-in, day-out work that each of our churches does.  But, there are a handful of ministries that are better accomplished when we join together.  In this packet you will find a prayer guide that outlines some of those things and how they will be funded through this offering.  In short, I am asking you to note the high value of what we do as Wyoming Southern Baptists in a cooperative manner.  I also ask you to prayerfully consider what you and your church can do to help advance these works.  These are Kingdom minded works and I invite and encourage you to be a part of what God is doing in Wyoming.
May the Lord Bless You and Keep You,
