WYOMING STATE MISSION OFFERING
100% used for missions and ministry in Wyoming
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. . . .
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5: 14 & 16 NKJV
Dear Wyoming Southern Baptist,
In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus used the above illustration (among others) to describe for us what we are to be about as one of His disciples. Notice when He says, “A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” He is telling us that His light shines through us in such a manner that others are bound to notice.
Following the illustration that our light is to shine for all to see, we understand that when several lights shine together, they indeed give light in many directions, to many people who are caught in darkness. In Wyoming, there are many places where Christ’s Light needs to shine. The collective aspect of this, that we shine more brightly together, is at the heart of what Wyoming Southern Baptists are about. While we all understand that the basic work of God is done in and through the local congregation, we see that there are a handful of ministries that are done more effectively when we join forces with one another.
In this packet you will find a number of resources for our State Mission Offering for this year. There is a prayer guide that will describe some of these ministries that this offering will help support. There is a poster(s) for you to use in whatever way you deem best to educate and challenge your folks to join with other Wyoming Baptists to accomplish. Then there are offering envelopes for you to use as you take this offering in the manner that you choose.
Let me encourage you and your church to prayerfully consider this state-wide ministry emphasis. Then please pray for all these works. For it is only through the work of the Holy Spirit and the power of God that these ministries can be effective, thereby letting each of our lights shine brightly, effectively, and collectively in a dark and desperate world.
May the Lord Bless You and Keep You,
